Why Islamic Healing Brings True Reassurance
So Many Paths, But Something Missing
When I was struggling, I tried different things. Therapy helped me name my feelings. Meditation gave me moments of stillness. But the peace never stayed.
I realised it was because something essential was missing: Allah.
Modern Western Healing
What it gives: medicine, therapy, treatments. These are vital and I encourage them.
What it misses: the heart and soul. You might feel better in the body but still empty inside.
New Age / Spiritual Healing
What it gives: gentle practices like meditation or affirmations. They can feel calming for a while.
What it misses: Allah. The focus is often on self or “universe energy,” and the peace fades.
Islamic Healing — The Wholeness We Crave
“And when I am ill, it is He who cures me.” (Qur’an 26:80)
Only Allah can promise healing. And only Islam weaves together all parts of us:
- Body through prophetic medicine.
- Mind through reflection and patience.
- Heart through dhikr and duʿā.
- Soul through nearness to Allah.
My Reflection
When I turned to healing without Allah, I found fragments of peace, but nothing that lasted. When I returned to Qur’an and dhikr, I found reassurance that stayed with me.
True healing is not just feeling better — it is feeling held by Allah.
